QatarEnergy  (Oryx GTL) is a state-owned corporation established in the State of Qatar by Emiri Decree in 1974. QatarEnergy is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in Qatar.

The principal activities of QatarEnergy and its subsidiaries and joint ventures cover exploration, drilling, production, storage and transport and sale of crude oil, natural gas, gas to liquids, refined products, petrochemicals and fertilizers, in addition to helicopter and financing services.

QatarEnergy’s strategy of conducting hydrocarbon exploration and new development is through Production-Sharing Agreements (EPSA) and Development and Production-Sharing Agreements (DPSA) concluded with major gas and oil companies. These agreements have enhanced oil and gas reserves through new discoveries and development of existing fields.
